I was looking for a job and then I found a job…

I've just been offered a job as a real graphic designer by Stuart and Ama at Northbound. Needless to say I'm ridiculously excited and look forward to starting.

Also a lot of thanks go to the Show 10 website which is where they originally saw my work.

I think everyone needs to add this toolbar to their browser. The best thing to cure boredom and repetition of the same old sites on the internets. Best thing ever to grace my browser. Stumbleupon.

Thought I'd mention that my new website is up and running.

Hmmmmmm. It appears I haven't posted for nearly an entire year. I suppose thats what being a third year does for your motivation to write pointless blog entries that nobody is going to read. But what a year it has been. Now it's all over, however, I feel it is perfect time to recall and reflect in between finding and getting a job. I'm also going to be using this place for what I originally intended and share random thoughts and things I find on the internet. Although I'll probably be content with finishing the layout.

Changed my website cause I hated how white it was. Going to keep it like this for most of my third year probably, but thats what I thought about the other one. Too Le Gun haha. No doubt I'll get bored of how indexhitibty it is. Have a nice concept for any site changes in the future which I'm going to keep previewing with my little enter pages.

Work Experience

Just sent out my blitz of C.V.s to agencies near to my home. Slightly redesigned and refined, with added bonus CD portfolio. Hopefully should hear back from some places. Fingers crossed.

After about two weeks of solid work I've finally got my website uploaded. Still needs some tweaks to the images as I forgot to change the resolutions! Idiot. This is why I'm not a web designer. Oh and heres the link, click!

Online Portfolio

Just purchased my domain name for my new online portfolio. At the moment there is just a title card, showing a little snippet of the style but I still need to complete some of the other pages. However, it should all be up and running very soon :D

Things I've learnt from being a 2nd Year…

* Typography can be fun

* I love making books, old cameras and ellipses 

* There's much much much more to design than I first realised

* MacBook's are lovely things

* The beauty, and the devil, are in the details

* More handmade, more tactile = more interesting work

* I don't write enough

* or post updates enough

* or use my time wisely out of projects

* Inspiration is everywhere. Or mainly out of my room, away from the computer.

So May came and went, I finished my second year and the summer lays out before me. The month has been a mix of stress, deadlines, sun and relaxation. The first two weeks were preparing my portfolio for assessment and finishing off any work as needed which is no easy thing with the collapse of all available printers the weekend before handing it all in. Ah well, it's all finished, I've been to France, took a lot of photos on my trio of 35mm cameras and about to start earning my way this summer. Before all that though are some photos of my favourite pieces from my portfolio.
